I love all the seasons. I really do and I am so glad that here in Tennessee there are all four of them. Thank God! It makes adjusting to being here away from my family easier by a ton. I hope they come to visit me in all the seasons. When they come in the winter they’ll get hot cocoa. Homemade hot cocoa. Delicious creamy homemade hot cocoa.

They’ll get other hot beverages too, but tied up in pretty packages with string will be homemade hot cocoa. I love gifts from the kitchen. I love to get gifts from the kitchen. Hint hint.

I am a total sucker for baked goods, drink mixes, dip mixes, spice blends. All of it. This gift is extra easy because all you have to do is mix and package it up. Then the hard work happens when they go to mix it. There’s heating up liquids, pouring without spilling. All that jazz.

hot cocoa mix in bowlI’m kidding, of course. There’s nothing challenging about making hot cocoa, especially with this mix. You just add hot water or hot milk and voila!

I hope you like it and enjoy giving it away as much as I do. Now I’m going to warm up with a creamy cup of hot cocoa.

  1. How about just cocoa and sugar and keep it more natural? A spoonful of each in dairy milk or almond milk is amazing… You could even add a vanilla bean to pretty up the gift :)

    1. That is a great idea. I will have to give it a try. I am certainly all about whole foods and limited ingredients. My Grandma gave me this recipe and I have never steered away from it, but I will try yours.
