My lips are chapped, chapped. I say it twice to emphasize just how chapped they are. Where I am from in Cajun Country that’s how we roll. I mean, I know it’s incorrect grammar, but it is what it is. So my lips are chapped. They are perpetually chapped. I am the queen of lip balm. I have a gazillion of them and can never find any when I need it.

Day four of Homemade Christmas is Lip Balm. That’s why for me it makes the perfect gift. It’s something I always need. Everyone else must feel the same as me right?

Well, if they do this is one sweet little recipe you won’t want to lose. Super duper quick and easy! Quick, quick.

Lip balm tubes with lip balm drying

You can make this recipe for about 10 lip balm tubes is less than five minutes. Boom! Ten fun little stocking stuffers made with love.  Make sure you use essential oils that are safe for consumption. I made the mistake of using one that was external use only and had to start all over. I like to use peppermint or grapefruit.

I am pretty sure when I do the cost analysis on this I will be amazed at how much money I will be saving each year by making my own lip balm versus buying it. Y’all don’t even know how much I spend on chap stick, and other lip balms each year. TJ is going to be so happy knowing I now have an endless supply and he doesn’t have to hear me ask,”where is my chapstick?”

I think this is one of those recipes you can play around with to try different oils and butters for personal preference. I like to be able to use what I have on hand at the time, so I am sure there will be some variations of my own at times. This is a good starting point though. If it is too hard melt again and add more oils/butter. If lip balm is too soft and mushy do the same and add more beeswax.
