Slice enough strawberries to go around pie plate. Set aside
Mash the remaining strawberries and set aside
Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.
Stir over medium heat adding water and mashed strawberries.
Bring to a slight boil.
Cook for about three minutes.
Remove from heat and cool.
Add filling to baked pie crust.
Refrigerate for at least an hour.
Serve with whipped cream.
