Five Totally Do-Able Homemade Teacher or Coach Gifts

Are you looking for some easy and thoughtful homemade gift ideas to show your appreciation to your child’s teacher, or coach this holiday season? Look no further!

I have some great ideas that you can make right from your own farm, or home. Not only will these gifts be budget-friendly, but they will also show your appreciation and gratitude for all the hard work your child’s teacher (or coach) puts into their role.

Homemade gifts are one of my ABSOLUTE favorites. You spent time and energy working on something just for me?

HECK YEAH! That is legit love. Don’t ever worry about giving me a homemade gift or card, I’ll always love it.

I love to give them too! If you know me at all you’ve probably received one from me at one time or another.

There is something so wonderful about getting back to something simple and having to use our creativity to think about what to do for each other.

With holidays quickly approaching you may have already started thinking about what you’ll be giving to say thank you for the time and talent they share with your children. Maybe there are several of them. Trying to find gifts for each of them could be a challenge. Not to mention it can get very pricey trying to buy for all the people and when we spend too much and get too stressed we (I’m talking about me here) tend to lose sight of what these joyous seasons are all about.

Some gifts I have given in the past are:

jars of bath salts with flowers inside

Bath Salts

Bath Bombs

Pepper Jelly or some other kind of Jam or Jelly

Honey

Homemade Bread (even better when paired with jam or jelly😉)

Lip Balm

Small Batch Artisan Soap

Pralines – or other homemade candy

Here are five you can totally do yourself:

1. Herb-infused oils and vinegars: If you have a herb garden on your farm, gather some fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, basil, or mint. Fill a jar with these herbs and top it off with olive oil or vinegar. Let it sit for a few days to infuse the flavors. Teachers can use these homemade infused oils and vinegars in their cooking or as dressings for salads.

2. Homemade jams and jellies: If you have fruit trees or bushes on your farm, you can make delicious homemade jams and jellies. Choose fruits like strawberries, blackberries, or peaches and follow a simple recipe to create jars of flavorful spreads. Package them in pretty jars with a personalized label for an extra special touch. Here’s a label you can use for free as a treat from me. This will print easily on Avery 22820.

3. Freshly baked bread: Nothing beats the aroma of freshly baked bread! If you are skilled in the art of baking, whip up a batch of homemade bread for your child’s teacher. Wrap it in a festive tea towel or place it in a bread basket for a rustic and heartfelt gift, or pair it with a jam or jelly for an added special touch.

4. Flavored Extracts or Syrups: Flavored Simple Syrups in a pretty bottle are a guaranteed hit. Or you can make flavored extracts like vanilla or lemon. You can even add a handwritten note expressing your gratitude.

5. Handmade soap or bath products: You can make natural and fragrant homemade soaps or bath products. I made a course to help you figure out how to do this. You can see that course here. Don’t be intimidated by this idea. Alternatively, you could make bath salts or bath bombs using essential oils and natural ingredients. Note: making soap at home will require at least 4-6 weeks for the soap to cure. Prepare accordingly.

6. Honey or beeswax candles: If you keep bees, you can gift your child’s coach with some delicious local honey. Or, find a beekeeper like me and buy some raw local honey. If you have a source for it (sorry not me, I don’t sell mine) you can use the beeswax to make handmade candles in cute shapes like bees or honeycombs. Good luck with that 😂 set aside an afternoon for sure for this project. These gifts are guaranteed to be a hit!

Remember, the most important thing is to give a heartfelt, homemade gift that shows your appreciation. Get creative and involve your child in the process, making it a fun activity for the whole family. Your child’s teacher, or coach will surely appreciate the time and effort you put into these thoughtful gifts!
