Method
- Pour 1/2 of the gallon of water into a pot.
- Bring the water to a near boil. I like it to be hot and steamy, but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and add the tea bags, wrapping the strings around the pot handle so they don't fall in.
- Allow the tea to steep for 4-5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bags and add the sugar, stirring until it dissolves.
- Add the remaining half gallon of water and stir again.
- Once cooled transfer the tea to a serving pitcher and serve over ice.
